The Avanti Fellows Builders for Change Product Fellowship is a 6-month program where selected candidates will be presented with an incredible opportunity to take their programming and design work to shape how government school students across India are learning.
Fellows will be grouped together in a team consisting of 2 engineers and 1 product designer for the development of one of the many projects that we offer.

👩💻 Fellowship Details
🔍 Who We Look For
Apply with proof of work. We believe in proof of work and not in academic qualifications. Proof of work can be as simple as a college project you might have made or your design portfolio. Anything that displays to us that you got the chops.
👩💻 Product Engineering Fellow
- Qualified in programming/coding
- Aptitude for critical thinking and problem-solving
- Worked on various projects that you can demonstrate (at least 1 significantly challenging project)
- Familiarity with our tech stack (primarily in VueJS (frontend) + Django (backend)) would be highly preferred
- Familiarity with version control systems
- A sense of drive and passion to bring about positive social change
- At least some experience with web technologies and web frameworks: VueJS (preferred) / AngularJS / React / Node / Django / Flask
- Great to have:
- Experience with large codebases / have made open-source contributions
- Experience with one of MySQL/Postgres/NoSQL databases.
- Experience working with any cloud infrastructure → AWS (preferred), Google Cloud, or Microsoft Azure.
- Familiarity with Docker containers
🕹️ Product Design Fellow
- Ability to create and execute on MVP-style tests
- Ability and willingness to build the MVP themselves and not give up when presented with setbacks or when initiatives don’t initially work
- A clear sense and taste in good visual design
- Good knowledge in design fundamentals, such as design thinking frameworks, with the ability to take on a structured approach in solving problems
- Deep empathy and interest in keeping your users point of view in the forefront, constantly bringing questions back to what will serve them best
- Have proven design chops through a portfolio/proof of work
- Have worked with design tools like Figma/Sketch
